What is formation?
Formation is an expansive, nourishing approach that employs education and programs to shape who we are and what we love.

Rooted in the progressive Christian tradition of the United Church of Christ, the Christian Formation Board and its ministries teach, challenge, and equip Plymouth's worshiping community to develop a lifelong transforming relationship with God that inspires action toward peace and justice for all of creation.
With that in mind, we value:
- Sense of belonging. Through a welcoming and appreciative climate we create a supportive and safe community that is inclusive and respectful of differences.
- Faithfulness. Honoring our intellectual and spiritual selves, we approach formation from a place of faith as we seek deeper understanding of who God is, how God reveals Godself, and who we are as the people of God.
- Joyful Curiosity. We joyfully approach Christian formation with a positive spirit of curiosity, and a willingness to act on what we discover.
- Servant Leadership. Following the model of Jesus, we empower members of the community to willingly serve with and for each other.
