ON HOLD - Using the Lawn for Your Small Group (10 or Fewer People)

Welcome to the Lawn!

We’re glad you’re here! We care about your safety and appreciate your strict adherence to these guidelines…if they seem too restrictive to you, please opt to meet somewhere else.

At this point, only Plymouth fellowship groups, small-group ministries, and staff will meet. (We will add boards, etc., at a later date.) For the health of our staff, please don’t enter the building (even if you have a key) … plan in advance for bio-breaks!

Only meet here if you can agree to these guidelines:
  • I have made a reservation with Barb Gregory in the church office. (970-482-9212 or barbara@plymouthucc.org)
  • Our group has 10 or fewer people.
  • I have taken my temperature today; it is normal.
  • I have none of these symptoms: headache, sore throat, fever, dry cough, shortness of breath, body aches, earache, diarrhea, fatigue, vomiting, abdominal pain, recent inability to taste or smell.
  • I agree to wear a mask continually while I am on the church grounds and avoid Katerra construction staff next door.
  • I agree to keep a minimum of six feet of physical distance between myself and others.
  • I agree to use provided hand sanitizer.
  • I agree to wipe down chairs with disinfectant and secure them when done. Need more cleaning supplies? Call staff at 970-482-9212

COVID-19 Update from Hal, July 2, 2020

Dear Plymouth Family,

Usually, when I write with one of these Covid-19 updates, the primary thrust has been telling you what you CAN’T do, but this letter will provide you with some ideas of what you CAN do!
  • Of course, you can pray on your own wherever you are!
  • You can attend Sunday worship and Midweek Vespers from Plymouth via livestream and see them later on YouTube. (Click the red button there to subscribe!)
  • You can walk the Labyrinth at Plymouth with a mask and using social distancing.
  • You can meditate in our Memorial Garden with a mask and social distancing.
  • NEW: You can join an informal Wednesday noon chat with a pastor via Zoom. Email for the Zoom login credentials.
  • NEW: You can make a pastoral care appointment with one of our clergy to meet in the Memorial Garden (masks...distancing...weather permitting).
  • NEW: Your fellowship group or small-group ministry can meet on the lawn between the sanctuary and labyrinth in gatherings of 10 or fewer people. (This is just for internal groups; and boards, etc., will be invited later.) Chairs and supplies will be provided. This has the blessing of our moderators and Covid advisory group with some restrictions you can read about below.

A BIG caution is that our building-site neighbors next door at Katerra Construction/Standard Apartments have been identified as an “outbreak” location by the Larimer County Health Department with 9 confirmed and 3 suspected cases of the coronavirus. Please, if you do choose to visit the Plymouth campus, put on your mask in your car and do not interact with construction workers, many of whom still are not wearing masks or observing social distancing.

I know that some of us are eager to return to worship right now, and I appreciate your zeal! Given that it would be an anemic service without singing (yours or from the chancel), communion, interaction with ministers, prayers of the people, offering (okay, that may be a plus for some!), or any social contact, it seems fruitless at this point. We want to keep you safe, and we want to keep our staff, volunteers, and deacons safe, too…some of us are in higher-risk groups. Thank you for your patience and understanding.

Instructions on how to reserve and use our lawn space are above.

The combination on the chair locks is the same as our parking gates. Call the office before your meeting if you don't know it. Parking spaces adjacent to our building – not the Standard Apartments – and south of the electric gates are reserved for Plymouth folks.

I leave you with this prayer:

God, we thank you for the beauty of summer:
For sunshine, thunder, and growing plants.
We thank you for the health of our congregation and for patience,
even though we long to embrace one another and
worship in close physical proximity.
Help us to keep ourselves and one another safe
from the pestilence that ravages your world
and our nation. Give us the social will to prevent its spread. Amen.

Deep peace,
