CHRISTIAN FORMATION FOR ADULTS
Sundays at 10 a.m.
Experimental Spiritual Experiences
In the West [Forum/Choir] Room 2/10-24 - I care; I’m listening. We will explore Brené Brown’s teachings on empathy. How do we walk sincerely with someone in their pain? How do we stay focused on them, and not grab the spotlight? How do we communicate our love, care and support even when we can’t “fix” the situation? Short film, group discussion, and hands-on art projects will help us grow in our capacity for empathy.

Lenten Study Groups: Mar. 10 – Apr. 14 (6 weeks)
YESHUA: PEOPLE WHO KNEW JESUS
Explore imaginative stories about real people who knew Jesus during his own lifetime. All these people have real names, personalities, hopes and dreams. They are radically changed by interacting with Jesus. We hear their stories through their own eyes. We already know quite a bit about some of them: John the Baptist; Simon Peter; Apostle John, Judas; others not so much. But we’ll make some interesting guesses. Led by Art Rooze, N. Adult Ed Rm.
CHURCH AND SOCIETY: PARTNERS OR ADVERSARIES?
What will “church” look like in the future? A major factor is the relationship between Church and Society. Is Society a partner, foe or both to the Church? We will look at their relations from the 1st century to now, focusing on the years since WW2. And at the dynamics of generational cohorts. UCC National Staff, David Schoen, will share emerging models of churches. Boards and MT members are encouraged to participate, to think in new ways about Plymouth’s ministries. Led by Alan McLarty, Fireside Rm.
