Youth Group
Sunday Afternoons. 12:30 to 2 p.m. Middle school and high school students are invited to join us for lunch after second service. We play some games, share a lesson, and then separate by grades for small group time. If you would like to provide lunch for us, please sign up here.
Our students have set a goal for monthly service projects during our next program year. Some months, we already have opportunities in place. Other months, we can look to help our Share the Plate partner.

Looking Back on Virtual Youth Events
During the pandemic, middle school and high school youth group activities were held virtually, but we were still busy! Here’s a quick taste of what we’ve been up to lately:
- Showing off our random talents for using chopsticks, catching M&Ms in our mouth, flipping plastic cups, and more during Minute to Win It Day
- Having a virtual campfire night and making the World’s Tiniest S’mores out of teddy grahams, mini marshmallows, and chocolate chips
- Exploring ways that we can use coloring as a form of stress relief, meditation, and prayer
- Playing quarantine bingo to remind us that we’re all going through many of the same things in this crazy year
- Participating in a pen pal project to help our youth stay connected to older members of the congregation

Special Programs
Connected Progressive Youth Ministry
"Connected" is an ecumenical collective of progressive youth ministries across northern Colorado who come together for fellowship, community, and outreach. Connected events are hosted by at least two different churches. Usually, we team up for lock-ins, laser tag, and other fun events. We also come together for service trips, youth retreats, spiritual formation, and more.
Most often, we partner with the First Congregational Church in Greeley or other UCC churches along the front range. We also partner with other progressive youth ministries in town, like First Presbyterian Church and First United Methodist Church. We love encouraging students to build friendships across churches and communities. If you have any questions or would like to hear more about this special ministry, please contact Brooklyn. |
Camping and Retreat Ministry
An important part of faith formation for young people (and adults) is breaking the rhythms of our daily lives and experiencing God in a new environment. Three times a year our youth make a pilgrimage to La Foret Conference and Retreat center in the beautiful Black Forest of Colorado Springs. This place is a ‘thin spot’ where the veil between heaven and earth fades away and you are surrounded by the Holy.
At La Foret, our youth participate in retreats and summer camp that are run by committed volunteers from the Rocky Mountain Conference UCC. We travel together to La Foret with adult chaperones from our church and join up with youth from across Colorado, Wyoming and Utah. It is a wonderful exploration of progressive faith development. Confirm Your Faith at Plymouth
Exploring and confirming Christian faith through participation in the Body of Christ here at Plymouth.
Every other year, Plymouth offers confirmation to high schoolers. This year is a confirmation year! Contact Brooklyn for more information.
Summer Trip
Every summer, Plymouth sends its 8th-12th graders on a trip. We alternate between mission experiences and faith-focused events. In 2022, we served with the Rosebud Episcopal Mission in South Dakota.
