Today
Water the Roots. This July, join our moderators in Fellowship Hall after worship for meaningful conversation and connection. Each week, we’ll explore questions designed to help us get to know one another more deeply and support the important transition work happening at Plymouth. Stay tuned — a brief survey may follow at the end of the four-week series.
Sundays in July after worship, join Pastor Pam for a book study on The Tears of Things: Prophetic Wisdom for an Age of Outrage by Richard Rohr (available in hard copy or e-book; visit Old Firehouse Books to buy in town). "Richard Rohr offers a wholehearted and hope-filled model for the world today, grounded in the timeless wisdom of the Hebrew prophets." Learn more and sign up at plymouthucc.org/events.
July
Imagine! Grant returns. Any existing O&M ministry team (or group of church members wishing to form a ministry team) is welcome to apply for a grant of up to $3,000 to be used for a project of their imagination. Application dates 7/15 to 9/30. Learn more and apply at plymouthucc.org/mission.
On Thu., 7/17, 4-6 p.m. "Good Trouble Lives On" The League of Women Voters and IndivisibleNOCO are co-hosting this rally that is one of about 1,000 events taking place to commemorate the 5-year anniversary of the untimely death of civil rights leader and congressman John Lewis. Line the Streets from Mulberry to Prospect. Meet: S College Ave & W Mulberry. Info/register: Fort Collins Event (Main Good Trouble page -- find other local events not in Fort Collins.)
The next Summer Pickup Choir date is Sun., 7/20. Show up at 9:15 a.m. to learn a simple piece and sing it at that day's 10 a.m service. All welcome!
Join Marty and Scott Marsh on Fri., 7/25 from 6-8 p.m. at their home in Fort Collins (80524) for FOG (Fellowship of the Grape). Bring a bottle of wine or favorite non-alcoholic beverage, an appetizer, and join us for an evening of fellowship with our Plymouth family 21+. We welcome new friends and invite you to join us. (Newcomers, get address by noon Thur. prior here.)
Later
AUGUST:
Final outdoor worship on the lawn, Sun., 8/3. Come early to set up umbrellas, blankets, etc. No live stream unless weather forces us back inside. We will try to record the service outside; if we succeed, it will be posted the following Monday.
Save the date for NoCo Pride, 8/10, 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., Island Grove Event Center, Greeley. Sign up for various roles here.
Help welcome international and housing-insecure CSU students! Student housing -- while furnished -- does not include things that make a space a HOME (dishes, pots/pans, sheets, blankets, towels, etc.). On 8/23, Plymouth will once again welcome incoming students by providing an array of new or gently-used household items. Drop-off begins 8/17. For Wish List, etc., or to volunteer, click here.
New Member Class, Sun., 8/24, 11:30 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. An opportunity to get to know the church, the United Church of Christ, and what membership at Plymouth means. (Membership Ceremony will be on 8/31 during worship.) Sign up here. Childcare available -- indicate on form.
SEPTEMBER:
Stephen Ministry at Plymouth. Are you going through a difficult time? Plymouth has trained Stephen Ministers who can help. Are you interested in serving as a Stephen Minister? We are offering training the week of 9/22. For more information, contact Lory Clukey with form on Stephen Ministry page.
