Prayer offered Sunday, October 7, 2018 ​at the library re-opening

God of wisdom, we ask for your blessing on this library and the knowledge it holds.
May the books and resources housed in this place
further the spiritual and intellectual lives of our members and friends.
May those who use this library find this to be a repository of wisdom from around the world.
May it be a vehicle so that the people who use it
can be transported across time and space in their learning.
May the pursuit of knowledge broaden and deepen the faith
of the people who seek new paths of understanding and truth.
May the curiosity of those who use this resource be stoked,
and may it drive them toward commitment to know you
and to work for your intention for humankind.
May we remember and celebrate the lives and ministries of George Worcester and Hugh Sanborn
when we use so many of their theological resources held here.
May Sara Myers and others who have worked so diligently to create this space
be blessed in the knowledge that this library
is a living and ongoing gift to our members and friends.
